CR JOHNSON DEAD DUE TO SKIING ACCIDENT

CR Johnson was killed at Squaw Valley, California while skiing. Reports say that the 26 years old Johnson was caught on an edge rock while entering the Light Towers area just above the Cornice II lift.

Reports about the accident say that Johnson fell hundred yards just below the entry before falling through the rocks. Ski patrol were there minutes later but was unable to revive him. He received injuries especially on his head that caused his death.

CR Johnson became famous for his phenomenal comeback after suffering traumatic brain injury last December 2005. He was in a coma for 10 days and in total stayed 34 days in the hospital where he afterwards went to rehab for months. After his fight he came back on the snow and finished third place last winter in the prestigious Red Bull Line catcher event.

Johnson became first known as a park and pipe skiing prodigy showed great skills on twin tip skis. He won the Winter X Games two times plus took home a bronze for the 2001 Big Air. The same year he also got silver for slope style.

With the said tragedy current Olympians and the rest of the skiing community are mourning for the loss of one of their comrades. CR Johnson will never be forgotten.
